Ohio Braid License Class

No. This class is for intermediate and advanced braiders who are looking to become licensed braid professionals. We will not be learning how to braid, though some braiding styles and techniques will be discussed and practiced during class.

In the state of Ohio, a Braiding License is required to provide professional braiding services. Check your state regulations if you reside outside of Ohio.

This class is to prepare you to be a licensed braid professional. We will cover business management strategies and ways to help you grow your clientele. You will receive the documentation necessary for you to apply for a braiding license with the Ohio Board of Cosmetology. Use your license to open your own Boutique Salon, work independently in a Salon Suite, or along side other stylists in a Salon.

At the completion of class you will receive a notarized certificate from Columbus Braiding Co that is necessary to apply for your license. You will not receive your braiding license from us. We will help you apply for your license at the completion of class. It can take up to 1 week to receive your license from the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology.

Yes. If you are in cosmetology school, obtaining your braiding license will be beneficial to make money until you obtain your cosmetology license. In class we will discuss the difference in what services can be offered as a licensed braider vs a licensed cosmetologist.
